If you are interested in volunteering for one of the AIPPWG projects please email Stephanie@americanindianprisonproject.com
The American Indian Prison Project Working Group (AIPPWG) does not apply for federal or state funding as we do not want to risk our ability to advocate and create community based events/actions to influence policy change in the systems that contribute to the incarceration of Native people. All individuals that lend their time, expertise, good hearts and minds to the work of the prison project do not receive salaries but are provided small consulting stipends. The greatest needs at the present time is assisting youth and adults with “returning home” expenses as well as educational and other daily living supports for the children/youth who have a parent(s) who are incarcerated. The AIPPWG will be launching a culture camp this spring for 10 justice involved youth - support is needed for food, cultural materials, recreational supplies, and we will need two Tipis. If you would like to contribute to the work of AIPP you can send a check to our fiscal sponsor, The Peace Development Fund – please indicate in the memo field for: American Indian Prison Project and email Stephanie@americanindianprisonproject.com to share that you made a donation so we can track with our fiscal agent.
